Karra Cheever, FNP-C

Karra Cheever, FNP, brings nearly two decades of experience in family medicine with a strong focus on whole-patient, chronic disease management. She also has extensive training in addiction medicine and is proud of her work supporting patients with substance use disorder. Karra cares for patients of all ages, both in person and via telehealth.

She earned her BSN from Salem State in 2007 and her MSN in Family Health from UMass Lowell in 2011. Before joining MFM Health, she spent 14 years practicing family medicine in South Hamilton and has also taught nursing students at Endicott College and Salem State. She is currently completing nutrition coach training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Karra’s clinical perspective is shaped by both professional and personal experience. After being hospitalized with COVID-19 in 2020, she spent six months volunteering with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency to care for unhoused patients recovering from the virus. She is committed to trauma-informed care and completed specialized training through JRI to support patients who have experienced trauma.

Outside of work, Karra enjoys paddleboarding, the beach, CrossFit, and spending time with her family. She and her husband live on the North Shore and are proud parents through adoption to three sons. She also serves on the DCF board and supports families navigating foster care and adoption. Karra is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
