Starting January 1, 2026, insurance coverage for GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound will change for many plans. Most insurers, including BCBS, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim, and UnitedHealthcare, will only cover these medications for patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
