Understanding Outstanding Balances and Payments

At MFM Health, we are dedicated to providing you with exceptional medical care. To maintain the quality of our services and continue to offer you the best care possible, it is important that we communicate our outstanding balance and financial policy with you.

Outstanding Balance: An outstanding balance refers to any amount that you owe for medical services provided by our practice. This balance includes any portion of the bill that your insurance does not cover or any outstanding payments that have not been settled.  As part of our financial policy, we kindly request that outstanding balances be settled before booking additional appointments.

Billing Process: After receiving medical services, we will send you an itemized statement, which details the services provided, the charges incurred, any insurance payments made on your behalf, and your financial responsibility. We encourage you to review this statement carefully and reach out to our billing department if you have any questions or concerns.

Payment Expectations: We kindly request that you pay your outstanding balance in a timely manner, as specified in your billing statement. Payment methods accepted at our practice include cash, check, credit/debit cards, electronic fund transfers, and HRA/HSA/FSA cards. We offer the convenience of online payments through a secure portal.

Payment Plans: We understand that unexpected financial challenges can arise. If you are experiencing difficulties in paying your outstanding balance, please contact our billing department to discuss the possibility of setting up an interest-free payment plan. We are committed to working with you to find a solution that fits your needs.

Communication: Our billing department may contact you via mail, email, portal message, or phone to remind you of outstanding balances, discuss payment arrangements, or request payment. We always aim to maintain a respectful and compassionate approach in our communications with you.

Collections Process: If your outstanding balance remains unpaid despite our efforts to reach out and resolve the issue, your account may be referred to a collections agency. This step will be taken in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  After three unsuccessful attempts to collect your outstanding balance, your account will automatically be forwarded to the collection agency, TSI.

Confidentiality: Please be assured that all information related to your outstanding balance and medical records will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. We will only disclose information as required by law or with your consent.

Compliance with Laws: MFM Health is fully committed to complying with all relevant laws and regulations concerning patient billing and collections. This includes adherence to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

We hope this information clarifies our outstanding balance and financial policy at MFM Health. We strive to make our billing process as transparent and convenient as possible for our patients. If you have any questions or concerns about your outstanding balance or our financial policy, please do not hesitate to contact our billing department by calling 351-212-8170.

Thank you for entrusting us with your healthcare needs. We look forward to serving you and providing you with the best medical care possible.
